The warm colour of ThermoWood® decking is inviting. The dark tones may resemble red
hardwood, yet those solidly reassuring boards are pure Scandinavian softwood from
sustainable forests. ThermoWood® is a premium quality softwood with longer life and
superior looks. The heat treatment that improves the performance of ThermoWood® uses
no chemicals. That makes it perfect for garden use - It works through the winter too. The resistance of ThermoWood® to water and fungal
attack is so strong that your ThermoWood® deck will last up to 30 years. There's
no need to lose that rich colour either. Just treat your deck with natural wood oils
or a proprietory brand of wood stain. However, if you don't want to treat it for
colour there's no need, the performance will not suffer and the colour will simply
weather naturally - Available in 3.9m lengths. Also we can supply ThermoWood® decking components :- |

The appeal of hardwoods lies in their naturally rich, deep colours that weather over time to develop a beautiful warmth and character. But hardwoods can be stained if you wish. Hardwoods are highly resistant to fungal growth and offer naturally superior levels of durability and wear resistance, without any additional chemical treatment. With only nominal care and maintenance with treatment oils, they retain their natural beauty year after year. There are a number of species to choose from and we have ipe, tatajuba and yellow balau, along with an FSC accredited hardwood. Depending on the final design and application of your decking, we can recommend the right species of timber for you. |

Heartwood dark brownish olive to dark olive, generally uniform, sometimes greenish due to lapachol, distinct from the pale yellow sapwood. Grain interlocked, texture medium, luster moderate or lacking depending on the species, characteristic odor and not distinctive taste. Ipe could be the hardest wood in the world (three times harder than oak) and is highly resistant against fungi and termites. |
